About

My journey to psychotherapy was not straightforward.

As a young adult, I had many dreams and aspirations, and my education in Scotland gave me the space to explore my curiosity in music, languages, and science. This changed when I started volunteering as a self-help group facilitator for people with bipolar disorder. This was a forming experience for me, as it showed me how fulfilling it is to build a healing connection with people.

Since then, I pursued my studies and research interests to learn more about the complexities of mental health and wellbeing, as well as the therapeutic practices I may be able to offer to the people I meet in my life.

I pursued this calling, first as an Autism Practitioner, where I provided meaningful support to neurodivergent people in a day care centre, and then by continuing my education by taking up an MSc in Clinical Psychology in the Netherlands.

This strengthened my therapeutic skills, learning practical abilities in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Couples Therapy and Sexuality, as well as increased my understanding of complicated mental health challenges.
Through this degree, I also pursued my interests in research in psychotherapy, which I continue doing while working as a research assistant alongside my therapeutic practice.

My approach

In my practice, I offer a space for introspection, self-discovery, and cultivation of a meaningful life. I tailor my sessions to each and every client. By listening to your story, to your needs and values, we will set goals of our sessions based on the things that you find important.

Although the journey of self-discovery may seem like a scary process, I will support you every step of the way. While I was trained from a medical model of psychiatric disorders, I try to look beyond your diagnosis, and instead focus on the way you experience your life. That means, that in our sessions I will aim to go beyond the mere management of symptoms, and towards the exploration of feelings, fostering self-growth, awareness and encouraging acceptance of your experiences.

At the core of my practice, I aim to empower you as my client to find your inner voice and embrace your authentic self.

Testimonials

"Rebeka, I am really happy to have met you and to start this working relationship with you. I think you're are one of the most compassionate and understanding psychologists I've worked with, and I genuinely feel that you do understand me a lot better and where I come from. And I am really thankful for the positive reframing you give me and they really do stay with me after our sessions. Thank you."
