About

Moving abroad can look exciting from the outside.
But internally, it can feel like everything has shifted.

You may find yourself thinking:

  • “Why don’t I feel like myself anymore?”
  • “I thought this move would make me happy… so why do I feel lost?”
  • “I have people around me, but I still feel alone.”

Even when life is “working,” something can feel off, like you’re disconnected from yourself, your direction, or your sense of home.

This is where I work.

Having relocated multiple times myself -including moving from the United States to the Netherlands- I understand how deeply living abroad can impact your identity, relationships, and emotional world.

Alongside my personal experience, I bring over 20 years of professional work supporting people through some of life’s most vulnerable moments, including major life transitions, grief, illness, and identity shifts.

In our work together, we create space to slow down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and help you feel more grounded, clear, and connected again- both to yourself and to the life you’re building.

Approach

My approach is warm, collaborative, and deeply attuned to your individual experience.

This is not just a space to talk — it’s a space to understand what’s really happening beneath the surface.

Together, we will:

  • Explore the emotional impact of living abroad and major life changes
  • Make sense of identity shifts and feelings of disconnection
  • Process difficult emotions such as loneliness, grief, or uncertainty
  • Strengthen your sense of self and inner stability
  • Help you feel more at home — both internally and externally

I integrate evidence-based approaches including:

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)
  • Interpersonal Neurobiology
  • Solution-Focused Therapy
  • Mindfulness-based practices

But most importantly, I meet you as a human — not a diagnosis.

Work Experience
  • 20+ years supporting adults and couples through life transitions, grief, trauma, and identity challenges
  • Extensive experience in oncology settings, supporting individuals and families through serious illness, uncertainty, and loss
  • Founder of a private practice focused on supporting internationals and expats
  • Facilitator of support groups and community spaces for connection and emotional support
  • Speaker, workshop facilitator, and podcast guest on topics related to identity, transitions, and emotional wellbeing

👉 This depth of experience allows me to hold space for complex, layered experiences — especially when life feels uncertain or overwhelming.

    Testimonials

“I came to Erin during a period of major life changes — new country, new job, relationship shifts — and I felt completely overwhelmed. She helped me untangle everything step by step. What stood out most was how deeply she listened and how safe I felt in our sessions. I left each conversation feeling clearer, calmer, and more capable.”

“I didn’t expect how lonely life abroad would feel. I had people around me, but I still felt like I didn’t belong anywhere. Erin created a space where I could finally say that out loud without feeling judged. She helped me reconnect with myself and slowly build a life here that actually feels like mine.”

“Moving abroad completely shook my whole world, disrupted my sense of identity. On paper, everything looked fine, but internally I felt lost and disconnected from myself. Working with Erin helped me understand what was happening beneath the surface. For the first time in a long time, I feel grounded again — like I know who I am, even in a new country.”
