About

You may be feeling…

  • Emotionally numb, disconnected, or “not yourself” anymore
  • Overwhelmed by waves of grief that come unexpectedly
  • Alone in your pain, even when surrounded by others
  • Lost in your identity after a loss or major life change
  • Exhausted from trying to function while carrying something heavy inside
  • Navigating life as an expat while everything inside feels heavy

Your usual ways of coping may no longer be working.
And part of you may be wondering: “How do I move forward from here?”

How I can support you

I offer online therapy for English-speaking adults in the Netherlands who are navigating grief, loss, and deep emotional pain—especially while living abroad.

Together, we create a safe and steady space where you can:

  • process grief at your own pace, without pressure to “move on”
  • understand and regulate overwhelming emotions
  • gently reconnect with yourself if you feel numb or shut down
  • explore relationship patterns and set boundaries with more confidence
  • work through shame and rebuild a sense of self-worth
  • navigate the emotional impact of expat life and isolation

Through our work, you may begin to…

  • feel more emotionally stable and grounded
  • reconnect with yourself and your inner world
  • move through grief without feeling consumed by it
  • function in daily life with more clarity and energy
  • feel less alone in what you’re carrying
Approach

My therapeutic style is trauma-informed, holistic, and deeply compassionate.

This is not about quick fixes.

It is about creating the safety needed for real healing.

In our sessions, we focus on:

  • slowing down in a way that feels safe
  • listening to what your emotions and body are communicating
  • making sense of your inner experience
  • building emotional resilience and self-understanding

I integrate evidence-based approaches including:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
  • Motivational Interviewing (MI)
  • Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
  • Gottman Method (for relationship work)

You will be met with a steady, non-judgmental, and respectful presence.

Faith-sensitive therapy (optional)

My worldview is personally shaped by a faith-based perspective.

If your spiritual or religious beliefs are important to you, we can gently integrate them into our work as a source of grounding and strength—always at your pace and with your consent.

Work Experience

My passion for this work is both professional and personal.

Having experienced depression and shame myself, I understand what it means to suffer in silence—and how powerful it is to feel truly seen.

Today, I offer my clients what I once needed:
a space for compassion, validation, and real emotional presence.

I have experience working with clients from diverse cultural, ethnic, religious, and LGBTQ+ backgrounds, and I am committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment.

I have also worked as an ABA therapist supporting children with autism and developmental differences, which strengthened my understanding of emotional regulation and behavioural patterns.

    Testimonials

“When I started grief therapy with Brittany, I felt completely alone after the loss of my parent. I was functioning at work, but inside I was exhausted and numb. In our online sessions I finally had a space where I didn’t have to be strong. I’m still grieving, but I feel more stable and more like myself again.”

“Living in the Netherlands as an expat while going through a loss was incredibly isolating. Working with an English-speaking therapist who truly understood that experience made such a difference. For the first time since moving here, I didn’t feel emotionally alone.”

“It was important for me to work with a therapist who was open to including my faith in the healing process. Brittany always followed my pace and helped me use it as a source of strength while working through my grief.”
